May

Bit late on this, but Happy May Day, Friends!!  Welcome Spring and all of Her fertility to the earth – baby ducks and chicks, green grasses, fragrant blossoms, and another season!

My aunt, Jane, always threw a May Day party to celebrate Friendships and the cycle of life returning to Earth.  She actually put up a May Pole and wove flower headresses.

I carried on the tradition back in Ohio for a number of years – with the exception of no May Pole but I did provide one giant bowl of punch guaranteed to topple anyone who drank it.

Grins and rolling my eyes… Beltane parties.

This past week I attended a class based on osteopathic philosophy and “The RULE of the Artery.”  If we free up all the lines of restrictions in muscle, fascia, joints, lymph, arteries – then oxygen can get everywhere it needs to go.  The result:  Better range of motion, feeling lighter and easier in our bodies, increased space for our lungs and other organs, and an overall feeling of GREATNESS.

The whole system works on the principle of lever, screw, and wedge.  An arm, leg, or even a toe can be a lever.  It’s probably the most effective and efficient technique that I’ve learned so far.  The approach I’m studying encourages integration of other techniques, for instance, strain/counter-strain, Craniosacral Therapy, lymphatic work, joint mobilization, myofascial release.  It’s the Bring-Your-Whole-Tool-Box stuff.

I’m really excited about it.  If you’d like to try it out, give me a call!

“Failing to fetch me at first, keep encouraged. Missing me one place, search another.  I stop somewhere waiting for you.”
